The Corporate Social Responsibility policy is one of the firm’s hallmarks, as it reflects AYALA DE LA TORRE’s commitment to civil society. Pro bono work (“Pro bono” comes from the Latin phrase “pro bono publico”, meaning “for the public good”) lies at the heart of Ayala de la Torre Abogados’ social responsibility.
The firm actively participates in various forums, associations and foundations dedicated to the defence of human rights and the promotion of institutional integrity, providing specialist advice and strategic support to non-profit organisations and social impact organisations.
Within this framework, it collaborates, amongst others with the, Sur, an organisation Mozambique Foundation committed to the social and educational development of Mozambique.
MOZAMBIQUE SOUTH FOUNDATION

Our collaboration takes the form of various initiatives. On the one hand, the firm acts as an independent expert on regulatory compliance, providing specialist advice to strengthen good practices in governance, transparency and responsible management within the projects promoted by the foundation. This support helps to ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with appropriate ethical and regulatory standards.
Furthermore, as part of our commitment to education and equal opportunities, the firm runs a university scholarship programme aimed at young Mozambicans, with the aim of facilitating access to higher education for students with high academic potential. Through this programme, we not only fund university studies but also promote the professional and personal development of the beneficiaries, encouraging them, once qualified, to contribute to the economic and social progress of their communities and the country.
Among these initiatives, the scholarship awarded to Lorino stands out; he is a Mozambican student currently studying Law and Political Science at Eduardo Mondlane University in Maputo, and we support him in his academic and professional development.
This commitment also extends to educational and social projects in the community of Massaca, in the province of Boane, in southern Mozambique. Within this framework, the firm is funding the construction and operation of a hospitality training classroom and another for IT, aimed at improving training and employment opportunities for young people in the area.
We also support the project launched at Father José María’s school, which involves the construction of a multi-purpose sports ground that will enable more than 500 children from the school, as well as other young people from the Massaca community, to take part in sports.
Furthermore, our firm participates in the project“Building Together” , an initiative promoted by the General Secretariat and the Board of Directors of Iberdrola that brings together leading law firms and non-profit organisations; Through this multidisciplinary programme, our professionals, together with those from Iberdrola and other firms, voluntarily contribute their expertise by offering high-quality legal and tax training and advice, with the aim of supporting organisations in their present and future needs.
