María González Romero

Law Degree from the Autonomous University of Madrid (2000), María González has worked as a lawyer in the field of Copyright, Patent and Trademark Law and is a specialist in the direction and management of foundations, as well as in commercial and business mediation.

After assuming for 10 years the coordination of the cabinet of former President Felipe González Márquez, from 2011 she worked on the definition and implementation of the Felipe González Foundation, whose original objective was to preserve, digitalize and share the documentary archive accumulated over more than 40 years of professional career.

In the field of mediation, in addition to holding the official title of civil, family and commercial mediator, she has trained at the Institute of Nonviolent Communication in Madrid, and since January 2017 she is a coach accredited by the International Coaching Federation, certified in the Center for Coaching Studies.

María also collaborates with companies providing training in communication, leadership and conflict management skills, and with the Association for Mediation, Listening and Encounter (AMEE) in the development of restorative processes in the prison environment and the training of new volunteers.

In line with the current framework of enhancing the appropriate means of dispute resolution, María González has extensive professional experience in the exercise of mediation as a complementary tool to the construction of agreements by lawyers that facilitates communication between the parties before addressing legal issues and contributes to expedite the negotiation of the agreement itself. In this way, María González offers our clients a specialization that guarantees that the agreement, in addition to being impeccable in legal terms, is sustainable and totally adequate to the needs of both parties, which have been previously seen and recognized in the exercise of mediation.
